Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: I haven't worked out in years, is 4 Shore Fit really for me?
A: Yes! Do not be intimidated by the word "boot camp". Men and Women of all ages and fitness levels are welcome and will benefit from 4 Shore Fit. There will be modifications and variations to each exercise so everyone can reach their fitness goals. My individual attention along with the camaraderie of a group will leave you yearning for more. Still not convinced? Come try a day of boot camp for free. Anyone is welcome to come as a guest for a free workout.
Q: Everyone in the pictures on your website look young and in-shape. I am not young or in-shape.....Will the class be waiting on me?
A: Unfortunately the boot campers that feel like they look "out of shape" do not want their picture to be seen on my website.
4 Shore Fit offers various ranks to accommodate all fitness levels and ages. Each day's activity will be modified according to the rank you decide to put yourself in each day. 4 Shore Fit's ranks include Private 1st Class, Lieutenants, and Generals. There are various ages and fitness levels in all of the classes. 4 Shore Fit is setup in a way that no one will come in last and no one will ever feel like the rest of the class is waiting on them.
Q: Where is 4 Shore Fit located?
A: At the South Santa Rosa Gulf Breeze Rec Center. 800 Shoreline Drive. Gulf Breeze, Florida. 32561. Activities will vary inside and outside, depending on the weather each day. Most of the time we meet at Shoreline Park South (the boat launch). It is directly across the street from the rec center. We enjoy exercising by the water and watching the sunrise and sunset as much as we can. Make sure to check the "Report to Duty" page for class location updates. http://www.4shorefit.com/report-to-duty.html
Q: How many days a week is 4 Shore Fit and how many weeks?
A: 4 Shore Fit is 5 weeks, 4 days a week, Monday- Thursday. You will register for either the 5:45am- 6:45am, 7:00am-8:00am, 4:30pm-5:30pm or the 6pm-7pm boot camp. Boot camp will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. If you plan on attending boot camp at various times throughout the 5 weeks, just sign up for the time slot you think you will come to the most. You do not have to let me know ahead of time what class you will be attending each day. I know we all have busy schedules that are often unpredictable. I just want you to get to class and work hard.
Q: What should I bring to boot camp each day?
A: You will need to bring a mat, dumbbells (5-15 pounds depending on your strength), running shoes, comfortable clothing, and water. If you do not have an exercise mat a towel will do the trick.
Q: Why don't you supply us with weights and a mat?
A: 2 reasons: 1st with all the germs and studies done on gym equipment, I think it is more sanitary to have your own. Secondly, I want you to have your own weights and mat so that you will continue to use the exercises you learn during boot camp at home for many years to come. If it is a hindrance on you to bring these items, contact me and I would be glad to assist you as best I can.
Q: What if I miss a day of Boot Camp?
A: I understand that things come up each day and you will not be punished for missing a day. However, I will be taking role everyday so I know who is getting their money's worth. Boot campers that do not miss a day of class will be rewarded. Please note that you will only get out of this class what you put into it, so I do not recommend missing multiple classes.
Q: I am signed up for the morning class, but I accidentally slept in. Can I attend the evening class?
A: Yes of course! No need to contact me and let me know. Just show up :)
Q. I want to sign up for the evening class, but sometimes I have a schedule conflict and would like to come to the morning class (or vice versa) would this be okay?
A: Yes.
Q. I am on a mission to get in shape. Can I come to class twice in one day? Is there an extra charge?
A. If you are motivated enough to come twice in one day, go for it! No extra charge.
Q: Will I be sore after Boot Camp?
A: You might feel sore the first couple days of boot camp. After a few days your body will adapt to the workload and you should only feel mild soreness. Soreness is a normal response to a new exercise program.
Q: Will I be yelled at during boot camp?
A: Don't let the word boot camp discourage you. Nothing intimidating or negative will be screamed at you if you start to slow down during each days workout. Only encouraging words will be cheering you on everyday.
